I'm a nerd?

OMG I realized I'm a NERD!
Yesterday I got a New "library card" and was actually excited.
I've been sneaking over to Boarders Books and paying full price well on sail full price for way to many books. I'd do this with a disguise on, of course because I have to remain the super cool sailor dude. I think the gangs on to me. At least 4 books a week. So many I can't even remeber the names. This is bad cause when I go to get more I don't remember if I read them or not. Till I get back and go awww fu~k.
It's bad, relay bad kind of like being a junkie. My friends are worried I can tell.
"Hey dude what ya doing?"
"Huh....I'm huh...cleaning my huh foredeck"
"Lets party later ok?"
"Yea I'll give ya a call when I'm done"
"Hey dude what's up the bongs warm and the beers are cold ya coming over?"
"Huh..I gota put this...huh stuff away I'll call ya"
"Duuuude are you reading again"
"Huh ...Noooo....I'm huh....(head down yea) yea."
"Duuuude your brains gona explode dude"
"Yea I'm know ... I need help."
So I make another Swiss Miss and Sailor Jerry's and return to my addiction.
I even turned down a sail Yesterday. Glad I did cause I see this morning their not back yet and I didn't want to do an all nighter. I...huh...got stuff to do.
Acutely it's the boating life that spawns the reading habit. Sailing is well kind of laid back. Well very laid back at least when I'm sailing it is. During runs you get plenty of down time as long as the weathers good and auto's working. Naturally reading works in really well. A cove, a book, a cocktail, what could be finer?
Alas now I'm doomed I have a Library card. And this San Diego Lidrary is like none I've ever seen 3 storys of books. I almost fell over in glee. Free books? What a concept!!.
I wonder if in my other life I wasted this much free time watching the Telly?
Work, telly, bed, work, telly, bed? Humm?
I was thinking of taking up another Hobie. Another cheep hobbie so I can still save some dough. Who am I kidding it'll take months to read all those books I'll worry about it when I'm done.
Life is fruckin good when this is your biggest problem.

Beer cans

Wensday beer can races are always a blast. I was supposed to do this race but I was in a trench looking for duckets. It was a killer day anyway rain thunder and lightning !! I friend called to say 4 people where hit!! Whooooa 2 of then right next door to the place I worked on last year !! I hope the kids where not home.

Other then Mother nature poppin some caps it was beautiful. Ya know that Med feel ? Well that was how it felt I love it.

Tri Sea of Cortez

Well we brought a Trimaran up the Sea last week. Great weather until the last night. With 35+winds and 6' seas. The boat handled really well and all was fine. It took us only 4 days going pretty hard on motor. We would still be down there if we sailed the whole way. Like I said really nice warm weather with 0 winds until night. Only bad thing was I had my backpack stolen before I even got to La Paz they got me pretty good to. All my sailing gear and ipod and.......MY CAMERA !!!! Waaaaa! So no pics till I get set up again. Anyway they fellow that owns the boat will be doing charters out of San Felipe. That place has changed so much since I was last there. And I might say for the better. Looks like it may have some life in it. So Check out Sail San Felipe if your in the neighborhood.

Oceanside Fun

Beach'n day out. I cant believe I came back to the house to check on the Chargers. I think it's the law here. They won and that RIPPS!! Amazing how empty the streets where as I was heading back to the casa. Little did I know the game was 3/4 over sheesh I need a watch. But hey check out these pics........ January in San Diego !! The Whales Virgina Oh yea and Oceanside was haven a tea party. Look at all that rigging!!

Prerain 2

This is Northern san Diego before "THE BIG ONE ". I love the way the media builds up a bit of rain here in So Cal. Ya'd think everybody needs sand bags and an acrh. It's probably a good idea that way all the crazy drivers can get ready. Anyole way this is a few pics of the beach today. The schooner is heading to Oceanside. Prerain

Another day to rip up. Looks like surfing might be out, There's a storm coming. The news is showing Vessel Assist running around the San Diego Moorings getting ready for the BIG ONE.

I've hardly seen the San Diego Bay go to nuts but I guess there's always a first time. Think I'll run down and check on some friends boats, check the chaffing gear and stuff. A few are still on holiday and out of town.
